Director: Jay CooperJay Cooper got his start in Video at Purdue University after graduating with a BA in Theatrical Direction. As a student working in the technical department of Purdue’s famed Elliott Hall Of Music he absorbed every aspect of live production. From sound to lighting to video and shows ranging from musical concerts to Broadway shows and everything in between. Deciding live concerts is where he could best put to use his knowledge of music and theatrical vision, he jumped headlong into the world of live concert video production starting as a camera operator (then video engineer) for Destiny’s Child world tour. The following year he joined Kenny Chesney’s first headlining concert tour as a camera op and became his director three years later, a position he’s held ever since, truly grateful to have been a part of and eyewitness to Kenny’s rise to the top of the touring world. Always a musician, Jay has taken his background in theatre and knowledge of the beat to good use in the live concert industry, working with a who’s who of artists in many musical genres. From rock and roll and country to R&B and Latin, it’s all about the moment. He’s been pleased to be able to capture and share moments as a director for some of the greats like Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Roger Daltrey and Ozzy Osbourne. As well as others such as Marc Anthony, Linkin Park, Sugarland, Ben Folds and Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and many more. When he’s not traveling, Jay resides in Nashville with his wife, daughter, his two cats and his vinyl collection. |
